From the deck of Windjammers:
Illustrated presentation by Frederick LeBlanc
Maritime photography portrays or draws its main inspiration from the sea and ships.
In this presentation illustrated by examples of his work, Fred LeBlanc will cover Points of sail, Composition, Seascapes, Nautical details, Composite imaging, HDR, Grayscale, Split tone, Photo impressions, Having fun with photography, and Telling the whole story.
Frederick J. LeBlanc has worked as a professional photojournalist for over thirty years. His commercial and editorial images have appeared regularly in regional and national publications. His lifelong passion for classic wooden sailing vessels has led him, over the last decade, to document these historic windjammers as they sail, in harmony with the wind and sea.
Through his collections of photographic artwork he hopes to recall a vanishing era when the waves were broken only by the power of the wind, to capture the majestic beauty of these historic tall ships, and to offer a visual escape that evokes a longing for the sea.
For the month of May, Fred LeBlanc's maritime photographs are on display in the Hosmer Gallery along with pastel seascapes by Ronald Parent.
