International Music for Guitar & Mandolin
Free - all ages
Enjoy an energetic and entertaining program of music for guitar and mandolin. Handler and Levesque blend Brazilian, Latin American, swing, gypsy, classical and folk music influences to create their unique arrangements. Audiences respond with great enthusiasm to their extraordinary sound and the uplifting spirit of their music.
Husband and wife duo, Handler and Levesque have performed over 1,000 concerts together throughout the Northeast and Midwest. They are on the roster of Cantaloupe Music Productions in Manhattan, New England Foundation for the Arts, the Connecticut Commission on Culture and the Connecticut Library Consortium. Their CDs Passion, Acoustic Blend and Two Guitars Live! have received critical acclaim and have been sold in dozens of countries throughout the world via internet sites. Passion is being used by the Greater Hartford Arts Council as a gift to over 1,500 donors to their 2009 United Arts Campaign. Handler & Levesque have also been featured on numerous compilation CDs with other artists and many radio programs.
“It’s a perfect musical marriage. A rich, zesty guitar gumbo, Handler and Levesque crackle with tasty elements of classical, swing, Gypsy and Brazilian, and a dizzying array of world-music flavorings.” --Owen McNally, music critic, Hartford Courant feature story.
