Saturday, December 15 at 7:30 pm. All tickets sold at the door. General seating begins at 7:00 pm.
All this time. All this space. Movement, sound, image, light. Each performer and audience. All this time. For 30 years, from floor to skylight, art in all of its forms has filled the historic ballroom that houses the Northampton Center for the Arts. And now, after all of this time, it is time to say goodbye.
Please join the Lisa Leizman Dance Company as they offer a loving farewell to this beautiful space before the Center leaves its home at the old Sullivan School in the Spring of 2013.
This special program celebrates the ballroom itself and includes works set to music by contemporary composers Arvo Part, Henryk Gorecki and Aaron Copland. The concert will also feature audience favorite “the secret that bamboo guards” with music by company composer-in-residence Andrea Kwapien, as well as “Somber Reptiles”, a new work with music by Brian Eno.
Following a long-standing tradition, the audience is invited to attend a festive reception with light fare after the performance.
Tickets: $10 adults, $5.00 children under 10
A festive reception will follow the performance.
