A FREE after school art program for teenagers where they...
Cultivate their creativity.
Experiment with different kinds of materials including recycled, upcycled, and free.
Work and play with different art processes and techniques.
Meet and work with local artists.
Participate in local public art projects.
And, have fun.
Grant funding for the 2015-2016 year allows The Art Garden in Shelburne Falls to once again offer the ARTeens program for FREE to Franklin County youth. Co-facilitated by local artists Phyllis Labanowski & Jane Beatrice Wegscheider, ARTeens supports young people to develop a life-long art practice and to find their place in our community as emerging artists. The Art Garden will also introduce teens to an intergenerational community of creative people through activities that already exist: community exhibits and receptions, cultural programs, and public art projects.
In order to accommodate the busy schedule of teens there are three opportunities to enter the program (fall, winter, and spring). Teens can apply to one, two or all three sessions. Applications are now being accepted for the six week, Fall session: Oct. 27-Dec. 1.
Applications are due Friday, Oct. 9th and are available at: www.theartgarden.org
