ABOUT THE PROGRAM: ARTeens is an opportunity for middle and high schoolers to cultivate their creativity in a safe and supportive, community-based, studio environment. Co-facilitated by local artists Phyllis Labanowski and Jane Beatrice Wegscheider in support of teens as they explore the world around them, critique that world, and find their place in their communities as emerging artists. Local/regional guest artists will be invited to the program to share and discuss their art practices in a variety of media. Participating in a program at The Art Garden will encourage teens to become a part of an intergenerational community of creative people through activities that already exist: community exhibits and receptions, other cultural programs, and public art projects.
APPLICATIONS: Available at: http://theartgarden.wordpress.com/programs/for-teens/ (It’s an easy application.)
Teens can apply to participate in one, two or all three sessions:

Winter (6 weeks) Jan. 7-Feb. 11
Spring (8 weeks) April 1-May 28.
