From folk to funk with a short film in between this affair is the perfect addition to an art-filled experience on the town. The evening opens at 7pm with a round-robin folk concert featuring local gems Frank Cable, Dave Dersham and Alice Howe. "Dersham taps hopeful, bluesey melodies and reverses lyrical expectations at every turn" -Club Passim
At 9PM there will be a film screening of “Safe as Houses”, directed by Molly Koch, Hampshire Alumna ’09. The film portrays a man’s routine domestic life turning inside-out when his wife leaves him. It is a delightful visual treat with a quirky narrative that attempts to portray the subtle conflicts of the mind and the bold hope of the imagination.
Transition from snacks and movie to the sounds of DJ Rayla in an artist-designed dance party, curated by Perry Huntoon and Chris Millette. A team of local artists join forces to transform the Dynamite Space in a sparkling feast for the eyes. This dazzlingly reflective environment sets the stage for dancers and spectators alike. This is a one night only site-specific installation; come see (and dance it it) while you can! The party continues until 1am.
There will be a donation fee of $5-10 at the door. All proceeds benefit Commonwealth Center for Change. All ages welcome. Sorry, no alcohol!
