Ashfield artist and landscape architect Walter Cudnohufsky presents a solo exhibition of watercolors depicting the many moods of the New England landscape.
"Walter Cudnohufsky's paintings are steeped in the moods of the New England landscape, depicting old apple trees, birches, flowers and other pastoral vistas, including some inspired by the scenes at his farm in Ashfield, where he lives with his wife, Susan. His ultimate intent is to record what is unique in his rural surroundings." --Laura Roadley 3.22.13 Hampshire Gazette
Cudnohufsky's representational style borders on the fanciful and the semi-abstract. This is made possible by the effective editing of what he remembers while applying a well-developed sense of composition. This stems from his talent and experience as a skilled designer. With a color palette that ranges from subtle monochromatic to the brilliant hues of New England autumns and sunsets, his work is conceived, most of all, from assembled memories.
