12-Week Winter/Spring Session Begins Wednesday, February 6. Registration is open now.
We are pleased to offer a Winter/Spring session of “Ballet Beginnings,” an introduction to the art of ballet and dance designed for young people ages 4 and 5 years old. Students who are a little younger or older are welcome by permission of the instructor.
This weekly class is held in the ballroom on Wednesday afternoons, 3:45-4:30 pm. The 12-week series begins on Wednesday, February 6 and runs through May 1, 2013. (No class on April 17.)
The program is taught by Jennifer Peterson, artistic director of the Northampton School of Dance. Ms. Peterson comes to us with an impressive resume of experience. She is an alumna of Pioneer Valley Ballet where she began her teaching career assisting classes, choreographing routines and helping with Nutcracker rehearsals. She continued to choreograph and perform at Westfield State College. After graduating in 2002 and teaching for several years at Hampshire Performing Arts, she opened the Northampton School of Dance. Her focus is on ballet and lyrical dance forms. Jennifer is certified through Dance Masters of America to teach ballet, jazz, modern and tap. She will be working closely with a maximum of 12 students to develop musicality and rhythmic timing in a fun and creative environment.
Tuition is $175. Full payment is expected in advance of the start date and includes a non-refundable $25 administrative fee. The remainder of the tuition is refundable if requested before the second class of each session.
To register, call the Center at (413) 584-7327 or email us. Please include your name, address, and telephone contact.
