Event Description

is an extraordinary solo exhibition at the Botanic Garden of Smith College in Northampton, featuring forty seven botanical mono-print works by artist Leonore Alaniz. Her sense for patterns, shapes, colors and composition brings alive grasses and foliage of trees, vegetables, algae, weeds and herbs, that range from majestic to miniscule. Visitors become immersed in a personal language of visual and poetic imagery that is enhanced by the tactile qualities of the scrolls, banners and framed prints. Presented in the perfect setting, this body of uniquely crafted images shows that plants inspire artful design where hands, heart and mind meet.
