The 9th annual Brattleboro Literary Festival will take place from September 30-October 3 at various venues in downtown Brattleboro, Vermont. The Festival will feature readings and special events that showcase 34 emerging and established authors including former U.S. Poet Laureate Maxine Kumin (Where I Live: New and Selected Poems), three-time National Book finalist Marilyn Nelson (Field of Praise), Newbery award winning author Katherine Paterson (Bridge to Terabithia), best-selling fiction authors Sue Miller (The Lakeshore Limited, While I Was Gone, The Good Mother) and Allegra Goodman (The Cookbook Collector, Intuition, Kaaterskill Falls), Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Gordon S. Wood (Empire of Liberty), non-fiction authors Jeffrey Zaslow (Girls from Ames, Highest Duty, The Last Lecture), Bruce Feiler (Walking the Bible, Council of Dads) and Nick Flynn (The Ticking is the Bomb, Another Bullshit Night in Suck City).
