One Night Exhibition: “Cakes In A Landscape”

From the Dutch still life masters to contemporary painters like Janet Fish and Wayne Thiebaud, artists have painted desserts. Confections have great appeal, because of their variety of shapes and colors. On Friday, September 11, from 5 to 7 pm, as part of Arts Night Out, the Center for the Arts will feature the results of a summer pastel workshop, led by Jane Lund, featuring CAKE! Each cake is superimposed on a landscape of the artist’s choosing—some of whom used their own yards as a background. Participating artists are: Pamela Bartlett, Janet Bowdan, Shannon Brown, Jennifer Connor, Joan Haley, Catherine McGarty, Joy Rademacher, Aurelia Wingate, Hilary Zaloom.

This one-time, luscious exhibition is in the West Gallery. Visitors can also view Patricia Dorr Parker's "Woods Series/Nature's Garden" which opens on the same evening in the East Gallery.
