Peter Dellert will offer two workshops on this day, one for young people, ages 7-13, from 10:30 am until noon and another for adults (ages 14 and over) from 1-4pm. Both sessions are an introduction to collage techniques using leaves, flowers, grasses, onion skin and bark combined with papers, printed materials, old text, maps, stamps and more.

The morning class will be offered in an atmosphere of informality and fun. All materials will be provided by the instructor, and participants should be able to take home a completed piece. Fee: $20 per person

For the afternoon class, Peter will provide some of his previously collected natural material so that participants will be able to proceed directly to the making of work after an introduction, explanation and demonstrations of appropriate techniques. Students may also collect and press plant material prior to the class (Advance instructions are provided upon registration.) and are encouraged to bring printed material and other papers from home. Issues of scale, design, color, texture, patterns, and composition will be discussed. Integrating the natural materials with each participants own materials will be encouraged and explored. This will allow participants to personalize their pieces. Fee: $45 person
