Gregory Gillespie and Leonel Góngora both emerged from the wake of the New York School avant-garde scene of the 1950's, rebelling against the ascendancy of the non-representational. They are two very different voices expressing their resistance to repression; sexual, societal, and psychological; but both are in conflict with their surroundings, reveling in the decadence of their own psyches.
