The Dance Generators' annual spring concert of new works will feature dances by Robin Prichard, Maureen Shea and Susan Waltner, as well as choreography and improvisation by Artistic Director, Kristin Horrigan.
Founded in 1997 by Amie Dowling, Dance Generators is an intergenerational company comprised of dancers in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. Company members come together through a shared commitment to expressive movement and innovative art making.
Their work “challenges audiences’ ideas about dance and shatters stereotypes about aging. The dancers speak honestly with their bodies and their voices, exploring themes of inclusion and exclusion, negotiation and agreement, fears and joys,” says Horrigan.
Tickets may be purchased at the door or reserved in advance at (413) 584-7327 and via email at ncfa@nohoarts.org. Reservations are recommended and will be accepted until noon on Saturday, June 6.
The Dance Generators 2009 concert is supported in part a grant from Highland Valley Elder Services and by a grant from the Amherst Local Cultural Council, an agency that is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
Tickets: $12 for adults and $8 for students and children.
