Featuring Smith College concerto competition winners Magdalene Rascoe ’10, soprano, and Chrys Webb Woodbury ’10, viola, as well as pianist Judith Gordon. The concert includes works by Mozart and Vaughan Williams, Beethoven’s Symphony #5, and the premiere of A Short Drive by Jennifer Griffith MM ’01. The concert is one of the events in the series Marking a Century: Music at Smith 1909-2009, a year-long series of concerts, lectures, and other special events to honor the many composers, theorists, scholars, and performers who have taught and performed at the college, and alumnae who have gone on to distinguished careers in music. Event is free and open to the public.
