His and Hers: Cosimo and Sylvia Favaloro in their 54 years of marriage have shared a love of art. They have traveled in the United States and Europe paying homage to the legacy of great artists in the museums, and their studios and homes, or visiting the locations that inspired the artist’s famous works. To stand on the Japanese bridge among the water lilies in Monet’s garden in Giverny was a particular thrill.
Sylvia graduated from New England School of Art and began her career as a commercial artist. She has worked in pastels, acrylics and watercolors.
Cosimo was an engineer with an active avocation for art, painting and taking classes. Upon retirement, he went to Boston University School of Fine Art. He works in oils, conte crayon and pencil.
Through the years, the Favaloros have exhibited separately and together in the Concord/Lexington area before moving to Easthampton four years ago. After the move, Sylvia has shown at Lathrop, the Cooley-Dickinson Gallery and the Northampton Senior Center. Cosimo also had an exhibit in the Cooley-Dickinson Gallery. This is their first exhibit together since moving to western Mass.
