Paul Yandoli studied Fine Art and Commercial Photography at the Art Institute of Boston. He worked professionally in Boston in the 1980s, and moved to Northampton in 1991. His personal work covers a broad range of subjects, especially scenes of the American landscape. Most recently, he has been focusing on the details and textures of landscapes and objects in different phases of decline and deterioration. This current exhibit, however, is a collection of images made with Kodak B&W infrared film over a period of about fifteen years - something of an ode to a film that is no longer made. He enjoyed working with it because the film could produce surreal images, transforming ordinary subjects into images having an otherworldly beauty.
