KidsBestFest is the antidote to boredom during school vacation week. The dedicated children’s programming includes films that you are unlikely to find on TV with some great foreign films. The week also includes YouthFilm Festival, films made by local youth who are at the beginning of their budding careers. The participants are able to see their films on the Academy of Music’s large screen in a theater setting before each of the KidsBestFest feature films. The schedule starts on Monday with “Matilda,” Tuesday is a selection of Mo Willems Animated Shorts presented by the Eric Carle Museum, Wednesday is a German Film entitled “Ricky-Three’s a Crowd,” Thursday is the award-winning “Maidentrip,” and Friday we are proud to present Youth Reel: Paradigm - A favorite at this years Children’s Film Fest at Mill Valley Film Festival Selected by a jury of teens from California Film Institute’s inaugural Summerfilm course, this year’s youth reel draws from 160 national and international entries—including, say the jurors, one of the scariest shorts they’ve ever seen.
