Pamela Cobb is a photographer whose photographs of landscape reflect both a childhood in New York City and 18 years in California and the west. Her work is a response to both American landscapes: the dramatic open spaces and vast scale of the west, as well as the intimate spaces of the east. Her large-scale photographs are not specific to a place on a map, but rather refer to one’s perception and experience of place and the mood or spirit evoked by light and scale.
Pamela has a B.A. in Art History from Kenyon College and an M.F.A. from California College of the Arts. Her photographs have been exhibited nationally; her work has been purchased for corporate and private collections, and is in the collection of the Artists Gallery of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. She has been awarded residencies by the Ucross Foundation in Wyoming and the Blue Mountain Center in New York.
