November 18- December 30, 2010.
Please join us for a reception with the artists on Thursday, December 9th, from 6 - 8 pm.
The show features two unique ways of telling stories. Liz Chalfin exhibits a series of etchings inspired by photographs she has taken of people in public places: fairs, parades, museums, studios, restaurants, etc. These images capture mundane yet poignant, timeless moments in our culture. Anne Beresford’s monoprinted lithographs use the conventions of posters, broadsides and frontispieces to advertise for worldwide events and elements that we all commonly enjoy for free. Her work materializes at the intersection of image and language that are at once warnings of life’s passing us by, as they are unbridled celebrations of life’s very temporality.
The gallery is open to the public Tuesdays and Thursdays 12 - 8, Wednesdays and Fridays 10 - 4, and on the first and third Saturdays and Sundays of the month 12 - 4.
