Erica Ann Flood received her B.A. in Documentary Photography and Environmental Education at Prescott College in Prescott, AZ in 2005. In 2007 she moved back to the valley and continued her work in the fields of photography and education. She teaches in the Girls Eye View afterschool photography program offered by Youth Action Coalition in Amherst, MA for the past 3 years, and recently become the Program Manager for a new International Limited-Residency MFA in Photography offered by the Hartford Art School. Her work covers a broad range of subjects from personal memoir and documentary to African Safari and Wildlife photographs. This particular body of work is an exercise in moving away from the literal capturing of nature and towards using the camera as a tool to paint a picture. All images were made using a Pentax K20D digital SLR and printed by the artist on Hahnemuhle Bamboo paper (a renewable resource) with an HP Z3100 printer.
