Our Town Revisited is an original multi-media performance inspired by Thornton Wilder’s play. Mitchell Polin’s The Ordinary Theater does to Our Town what Jimi Hendrix did to the “Star Spangled Banner,” remixing the original to create a stage experience that approximates watching life go by with a remote in your hand. Actors use found text, beat poetry, and various languages, juxtaposing themselves with real-time video and musical improvisation that focuses as much on the storytelling as the story. Our Town: Revisited is concerned with the ways in which we come to know, to perform, and to remember the events of our lives—and the ways in which they are kept alive by stories and by dreaming. With live sound and video composed and performed by Tungsten74.
