A three day music and arts festival, with hands-on workshops, vendors, and performances at Flywheel arts collective and Food For Thought Books, our mission is to celebrate and support all musicians and artists in the DIY underground, specifically whose identity falls outside of the dominant cultural mainstream, including but not limited to women. We strive to to bring accessibility to DIY zine making as well as supporting radical independent publishing and hope to bring writers, activists, artists and community members together through sharing, connecting and collaborating.
Zines, which are written in a variety of formats, strive to set importance on bringing literature, art, and politics out of a profit oriented industry. This lets information that is often exclusive to academic or privileged spheres available to a more general public. Zines offer a founding basis of Do-it yourself “DIY” communities and encourage anyone to write or read theory, art, personal journals, or anything else without the need of a publisher.
