an interactive art installation by Aliya Bonar

"This journey is about home - leaving one and becoming part of another," says Bonar. "While seemingly foreign and strange, this world is in fact filled with your memories and stories - connections to the places where we feel comfortable, safe, and allow ourselves to be vulnerable. Through sharing our stories we will step outside of our normal selves and into our extraordinary selves."

"right(here), right(now), you(really)" is Aliya Bonar's Hampshire College senior thesis project. As an artist, her work explores creating spaces and opportunities for viewers to be fully self-expressed, sharing their stories with the wider world.

Upon entering the installation, the visitor will be processed into a new world, receiving a map, passport, and citizen badge. Led by a team of Conductors, each Citizen will have the opportunity to contribute a piece of their story to their new community. Through journeying into a world of stuffed animals, invented landscapes, Factories of Communication, and secrets lost under the couch, Citizens are invited to enter a place where untold stories are set free from the objects, histories, and bodies that hold them.
