Salmon Falls Gallery is celebrating the Deerfield River Saturday, June 18, 2-6pm during River Walk, Shelburne Falls river-themed art walk. Inside the gallery there are three exhibits that take their source from the river: Along the River, pastels by Deerfield artist Rebecca Clark; photographs of the Connecticut and Deerfield Rivers by Carl Nardiello and On the River, photographs by Ashfield artist Sarah Holbrook. If that isn’t enough of a river view, just take a look out our large windows and view the Deerfield River itself flowing through town.
Ever hear of River Felting? Outside on our front porch Liz Canali will help you make a small flat felted piece with wool roving and water in a ziplock bag! River themes encouraged. Introductions to the project at 2pm and at 3pm. $5 fee for materials.
Storyteller David Arfa will share Real Tall River Tales starting promptly at 2:30 and ending at 2:50. Did you know that Tall Paul Bunyan spent time right here by the Deerfield River? Well he did. Come and hear all about the showdown of Tall Paul vs. the real loud and mighty Deerfield River. Maggid David Arfa will share stories for all ages inside the gallery. Free for all listeners!
Ready to draw your own masterpiece? Sidewalk chalk is available for drawing all over town. It’s just possible June 18 will be a colorful celebration of our own Deerfield River. Come join the fun. For more information www.SalmonFallsGallery.com or www.ShelburneFalls.com
