What do the Forbes Library on West Street, Northampton, and The Rapids, a restaurant on the Westfield River in Huntington have in common? They are two landmark buildings which anchor each end of a 13 mile state road called Route 66, a state byway which quickly transitions its traveler from a bustling city-scape, past farms, orchards, and grand views of the valley, to a rural area of wooded hillsides, beaver ponds, stone walls and the scenic Westfield River.
This exhibit features paintings, in oils, watercolors and pastels, of scenes along the length of Route 66, from the lawns of Forbes Library, to its terminus 13 miles west, at the intersection of Route 66 and Route 112 in Huntington.
