The Loft Parlor is pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition of Lisa Foster's series "Second Stage Stories" on view August 5 through September 6, 2013. 

Join us for the artist's reception during Easthampton's Second Saturday Art Walk August 10, 2013 from 5-8pm. 

"My work is generated by 'posed' images of myself. A photograph captures a static image or symbol of my "pose" which is then deciphered in the studio. I explore and process this image through my emotional interpretation of my body. At some point my presence in the painting is co-opted, by covering, filling in, and flattening
the form with reproduction quilting fabrics. The random process of attaching a predisposed narrative to the image, the 
depersonalization of a once highly personal one, allows me to free myself of the originating story and
the new 'narrative' becomes the language. "
