Staging God and Policy
Sunday, November 8, 11 am
Playwright Erik Ehn’s performance cycle on genocide, politics, & art is being developed by six different US theatres. This Conversation explores the role of culture & religion in the formation of genocidal ideology. Led by Erik Ehn, and artists Laurie Carlos, Daniel Alexander Jones, Robbie McCauley, and Ana Parea. Moderated by Moira Brennan.
Double Edge Theatre's Conversations is an ongoing series that engages a diverse community of artists, audiences and presenters for discussions in an intimate, stimulating environment. The program for Fall 2009 includes sessions devoted to a wide array of topics, from an inter-disciplinary discussion on theatre training to an investigation of the cultural ramifications of genocide. Guest speakers and descriptions are below. These Conversations will take place the first three Sundays in November, in conjunction with Double Edge's Garden Cycle performances, and will also be simulcast in live video at
www.doubleedgetheatre.org/livevideo.php.
Tickets: $10 or free with attendance of the Garden Cycle
