This Institute is a three day immersion into this ancient art form. We will delve into exercises in improv theatre, movement and writing, all the while applying our new skills, knowledge and inspirations to crafting our stories for telling.
Each year, for five consecutive years, people have been gathering for the Institute to learn the art of telling a story from a seasoned Performer, Coach and Educator. Each year has been rich with images formed by words and movements wisely chosen over the course of the three days together. Each year our presence and intentions to create together form a community amongst us! And we have a blast!
Throughout the years participants have come from many professions including: lawyer, doctor, environmental educator, theatre professional, storyteller, minister, rabbi, corporate executive/consultant, dancer, speech and language therapist, retiree and lots and lots of teachers and librarians. Of course, many also come for personal growth and a chance to treat themselves to a weekend retreat away from their usual routine.
Whatever your reason, I hope you'll consider joining us this year! The first Early Bird Deadline is March 15, which comes with the incentives of $50 off the fee, one hour of free coaching after the workshop AND a copy of my up-coming CD!! Some years we have had a full house and had to turn people away, so register early!
The Institute is held at the Angel’s Rest Retreat and Conference Center in the beautiful New England town of Leyden, Massachusetts. It features a spacious workshop space with views, pleasant accommodations, hot tubs, pool, forests, great food, friendly and accommodating staff and 20 PDP's for Massachusetts teachers! There will be time allotted on Saturday to enjoy the facility and surrounding area - biking, walking, swimming, hot tubbing - or simply to relax. Some folks choose to use this time to work individually on their stories.
MY MOTTO: LEARN A LOT, LAUGH A LOT!
The workshop is limited to 14 people - sign up early!
