TRINE features work by artist educators Bozena Jaworowski, Warren Smith, and Karen Tetrault , all of whom teach at Hampshire Regional High School. Their collaborative exhibition will be on display in the East Gallery of the Center for the Arts, January 5-28, 2011.
The public is invited to an Arts Night Out opening reception on Friday, January 14, 5-7pm.
“TRINE” is a group comprised of three parts, indicating harmony, momentum, and ease of expression: "We are a group of three artist educators who have been working together for over a decade. Each of us has our own particular vehicle for expression. What binds us is our friendship and working relationship over the years, coupled with the support we give to each other as artists. The title of our exhibit reflects this relationship."
Bozena Jaworowski has been an art teacher at Hampshire Regional School for 12 years and an art education instructor at Westfield State University for 7 years. She holds degrees from Westfield State University and the University of Massachusetts where she is currently pursuing her doctoral degree. In her creative work Bozena focuses on painting and printmaking.
Warren Smith has been an art teacher at Hampshire Regional High School for 24 years. He holds degrees from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and the Rhode Island School of Design. Warren apprenticed with John Baymore of River Bend Pottery and exhibits nationally. His work is included in the book “500 Ceramic Sculptures: Contemporary Practice, Singular Works”.
Karen Tetrault chooses fiber, photography and printmaking as her media. She has been an art teacher at Hampshire Regional for 20 years. Karen holds degrees from Westfield State University and the University of Massachusetts. She is a member of the Pioneer Valley Photographic Artists.
Regular gallery hours are 11am-4pm, Tuesday through Friday
