Need another interesting way to go green?

Join Lou’s Upcycles, hosted by the Wandering Peacock, and learn how to create fabric out of post consumer plastic packaging! Adults, tweens and teens, or children supervised by adults (4th grade and up) enjoy learning how to make a durable fabric out of plastic bags and wrappers in this fun and educational workshop.

Workshop is limited to 12 participants, save your spot!

Learn about plastic waste, how it's acquired, where it goes, and how to reduce your family's amount of it. Then, using the plastic fusing process, create your own accessory out of un-recyclable packaging.

All supplies are provided with the workshop, you may choose to save some of your favorite plastic bags to bring in and work with. After our plastic fabric is created, you may glue, sew, draw, and cut to create a take home project that is like no other. Samples of work will be provided for project ideas and printed information on recycling programs for our community will be handed out at the end of the session.

Light snacks and drinks will be provided. You are welcome to pack a lunch.

Anyone who is able to sew is encouraged to bring their sewing machine along with their ideas.

Workshop fee is $35 and includes all materials, information, and take home project. If participant is a child, only one admission is required for child and parent supervisor. Please reserve your spot by submitting your workshop fee in the following ways:
