"Weathering"
A Moving Installation
open 2:00-6:00 p.m. January 4 & 5, 2010
With a combination of minimal visual environments and slow-moving body transformations, performer Candice Salyers will explore what can be learned from "weathering" various types and cycles of winter. Through processes that include outgrowing boundaries of perception, unfurling suspensions, and imagining "self-preservation" as a love of living, this installation invites the viewer to slow down with the unfolding movement or to move through the gallery at his/her own pace.
