Without Borders: Nepal to Nigeria: Photographs by Alan Dayno is an exhibition of medium and large-scale black and white and color photographs.
Dr. Dayno traveled as a volunteer with international organizations providing medical relief. More than simple portraits, he records people in their daily lives and the resilience of their spirit and humanity faced with the vicissitudes of life.
For black & white images, Dayno uses refined piezo and quad tone archival inks on watercolor and enhanced matte papers. His color images utilize both conventional film processes and digital archival pigmented inks. His work comprises single images with strong emphasis on composition and light with a subtle spontaneity and intensity to his images.
An opening reception will take place at the Forbes Library on Monday April 5th, 2010 from 5-7pm in the Hosmer Gallery.
Also on exhibit in April: Photographs by Edward Hing
