During the Amherst Art Walk, the Youth Action Coalition’s Arts-for-Change Project will host a Spring Art Exhibition at the Hampshire College Main Gallery. This exhibition will display work done by Youth Action Coalition’s various programs and artists. YAC is proud to have a wide spectrum of youth work dealing with a multitude of concepts. YAC youth will be presenting work that ranges from extremely pertinent issues of social justice, such as women’s role in society, to what daily life is like for a young person living in western Massachusetts. They will be showing a myriad of work, from a collaborative metal and photographic bench (which will later be placed in a downtown location), to a mannequin collaged with photos and drawings, to stunning video installations and engaging photographic journeys.
Come celebrate all of the hard work that these youth have done throughout the course of the year at this amazing event!
The exhibit will be open from MAY 25th through June 15th, at the Hampshire College Main Gallery (in the Harold F. Johnson). There will be a reception, with the artists present, on Friday June 7th from 5-7pm. The public is invited to attend.
