Jackie is an eclectic artist who works in many media and is drawn to the styles of impressionism and abstract expressionism in her paintings and mixed media collages. As a photographer, her work is focused on nature and architectural photography. Jackie views her art as a contemplative practice in which she is able to express mood, feelings, energy and her connection with the universe. She is excited and mystified by the raw emotion and energy that emerges when she’s painting, and finds a deep healing energy in the process.
While Jackie has been creating jewelry for nearly 20 years, she has more recently come back to earlier interests in painting and photography. Primarily self-taught, she has had little formal training in any of the media in which she works. She owes a debt of gratitude to the authors of art books and magazine articles, art demonstrations, fellow artists and the people along the way who’ve been her teachers in life.
She has lived in New England all her life, and can often be found by the ocean. When she’s not painting, beading or snapping photos, she is a college professor of human services and psychology, a Reiki Master-Teacher, wife, and mother (described by her son as "a hippie without the drugs"). She is blessed to have a wonderful family who encourages and supports her “art habit.” Jackie lives in Springfield with her husband and two cats.
