Artist Statement/Bio

I'm a recent graduate from the Architecture + Design department at the University of Massachusetts- Amherst.

My artwork is a continuous experiment in both process and representation. When I start a piece I don't know what shapes will form or what the finished product will look like. I use a combination of controlled and uncontrolled layers to create movement, discord, unity and depth. My subject matter is often a juxtaposition of natural and man made elements. The overlapping of layers pull and push on each other creating an energy and tension that is evident within the theme and layers themselves.
