I started out as a painter, showing work in galleries. Living in New Mexico and seeing low rider culture I began to appreciate art on the street. Later I worked in New York City, made sculptural outfits and went out for walks. Since 2004, I've been working on a carnival truck that carries different outfits and mechanical sculptures that move to music. This project was originally supported by a grant from the ART awards for art teachers program of the Philanthropic Institute: Thanks! I hope to give people an unexpected experience in their day, and to explore the limits of public space in our country.
