Artist Statement/Bio: Cynthia Hauk is an interdisciplinary artist; her work investigates a range of contemporary issues, such as the notion of home, migration, domestic spaces, modern ruins, nostalgia, community and urban intervention, and variances seen within cities. She has exhibited her work throughout the United States (including AZ, CO, FL, MA, NY, OH and WA), as well as internationally in Florence, Italy. Cynthia Hauk earned her Master of Fine Arts degree in January 2010 from the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University. Cynthia incorporates various art media based on her conceptual interests, and over the past decade her work has most often explored installations and photography.

In addition to creating her own work, Cynthia facilitates ongoing art-based workshops, provides mentoring to beginning and mid-level career female artists, and owns and operates a professional photography business servicing the Western Massachusetts and New England region.
