Donna Hébert (French-Canadian & Celtic fiddle, viola, singer, composer, teacher) received a 2009 Citation from Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick for "outstanding artistic achievement" at the 2009 Commonwealth Awards. She's also a 2008 Massachusetts Artists' Fellow in the Folk Arts for Franco-American fiddling and a Creative Teaching Partner, both awards given by the Mass Cultural Council. Donna is also the author and pubisher of Fiddling Demystified for Strings. Adjunct fiddle instructor at Amherst College, Donna has an Amherst teaching studio and also performs and teaches with guitarist Max Cohen in three other ensembles as well as with Franco-American singer Josée Vachon. Valley audiences will remember Donna as the comedic fiddler and singer from 1980s girl group Rude Girls. Donna's Fiddling Demystifed channel on YouTube has 17 clips of her performing and teaching, most including Max Cohen as well.
