Artist Statement/Bio

I am a performance artist. I excavate American non-heroes living on the edges of reality. Combining found materials and original writing, I create portraits exploring desire, consumerism, and misplaced idealism. My most recent piece, "After Collapsing" was a love letter to Anna Nicole Smith. Part installation, part performance art, part who the fuck knows, After Collapsing broke down the becoming of a celebrity to gestures and appearance. Mimicking Anna in all her glory, the piece refracted and fractured the performance of personality: using T.V. and video to create a reverse exorcism. Crispy Chicken drive through mixes with half-baked feminist rantings, playboy videos and C-Section transcripts.
