Artists Creating For a Cure is an organization aimed at networking with local artists and art students to put on an art exhibition/sale on May 2nd, 2010 to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer Research. The main objective of this organization will be to showcase various art and media to appeal to a wide variety of people who are looking to purchase art or donate in support of the artwork created. As many aren't aware, Pancreatic Cancer is one of the most deadly cancers of our modern generation. According to the American Cancer Society, only about 5% of patients diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer will live past 5 years after the cancer is found. Risky surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy are current methods to help prolong a patient's life; but as many who have experience with the disease will tell you, it simply isn't enough. Pancreatic Cancer should not be a death sentence, and Artists Creating For a Cure is an outlet for the community to work towards helping those patients and families touched by this terrible disease by giving them hope for a cure through research.
