I strive to make pottery that feels comforting in the hand, functions well, and pleases the eye. The minimal decoration and subtle glazing lets the shape and character of each piece shine through. My pots are wheel-thrown, salt-glazed stoneware and fired for approximately twenty-four hours in a wood kiln. The process of wood firing adds to the finished product an element of surprise and infinite variation that I find especially compelling. I hope that my work brings added importance and pleasure to daily household tasks.
