Artist Statement/Bio

Cooler Reviews is created and written by Mike Belhumeur and Dana Wilde, with guest photographers Lisa & Doug Merrill.

BIRTH of Cooler Guy
One day, Mike looked at the cooler sitting in the corner of his apartment and thought "I could TOTALLY wear that on my head."

Then, he actually involved other people in the carpentry, art/costume, photography, and writing required to turn his crazy creative idea (and then Cooler Reviews) into a reality.

DEBUT
On May 15, 2010 Cooler Guy hit the streets of downtown Northampton, Massachusetts. He walked around (with a cooler-on-wheels in tow) and handed out flowers to the throngs of students, parents, and locals on the streets that day. His startling blue presence brought smiles, photo-ops, confusion, and joy -- and inadvertently scared the shit out of some.
