My vibrantly colored "landscape" paintings combine elements of suburbia, industrial architecture, and natural forms inspired by my research and travel. I incorporate traditional methods of landscape painting with a more intuitive style, drawn together by my uninhibited use of brilliant contrasting color.
I graduated with a degree in Studio Art from Smith College in 2009. I studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in London in the spring of 2008, where I began exploring the way I looked at the landscape. My return to the United States inspired paintings driven by the contrast between natural and manmade, foreign and domestic, metropolitan and suburban landscapes. I am now living in Northampton, working for C3 and was recently hired by the Northampton Arts Night Out advisory board. I hope to bring new energy to this event in order to reveal local artists their community!
