I first fell in love with the violin at the age 12. My early musical passions were Argentine Tango and Gypsy music. I was classical training then went to study Jazz and folk music form different regions and cultures, including Classical South Indian, Fiddle, Bluegrass ,
Samba and Bossa Nova.
I have performed and recorded with various artists in South America, Europe and USA .
My view about teaching is that every human being has their own rhythm and personal style of expressing music.

Ricardo Frota is a musician, music educator, violinist, percussionist, performer, improviser, and a graduate from the New England Conservatory. He has performed in Europe, the USA, and South America. He is the founder of Sound Play Productions, a music program that brings multicultural music making to school children. Ricardo has presented numerous workshops and created school assemblies and artist-in-residence programs to private and public schools throughout the USA and the Boston area.
