Artist Statement/Bio

Through a series of artistic experiments, I developed a compositional device called the Environmental Palette in which 1296 classic, timeless objects are randomly selected via a roulette wheel for an uncanny juxtapositioning of visual configurations to create a unique work of art that cannot be repeated ever again. The seeming haphazard placement of the images lends itself to a subconscious subjective interpretation by the individual that one could liken to a "reading," much as one would derive from Tarot, I-Ching or Astrology. Thus, the painting is freed from the influences of religion, economics or government, as well as the hand of the artist, and allows Life to express itself. The Environmental Palette is neither Pop art, nor abstract, although abstract in execution only, it is an art form that doesn't fit any mold.

My studio is in my home basement, tucked away in the foothills of the Berkshires, a space in which I also create gold-leafed, hand-carved signs. pen and inks, as well as still-lifes and portraits..
