The Performance Project is an arts community of many ages and ancestries in Springfield, MA. Holding young people at the center of our work, we create compelling art that engages the public in dialog about critical social and cultural issues. Members participate in intensive artistic training, leadership development, and inter-generational mentoring. We support each other, build on our strengths, and create intercultural alliances dedicated to personal and social liberation. Through creativity and art we celebrate our connection and our full humanity.

Since 2000, we've established two youth programs, an inter-generational performance ensemble, produced nine original plays, led workshops for youth programs, in youth and adult correctional facilities, high schools and colleges. We've collaborated with many artists and organizations with the common goal of seeking human connection, justice, and enriching our lives through the arts.
