Zack Forray is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, wannabe drummer, former aspiring novelist, future aspiring parent, mediocre gardener, enthusiastic chef, and full-time dreamer from western Massachusetts.
In the spring of 2011, he set out to write and record an album’s worth of songs in his home. The goal was simple: to create the sound, feel, and production quality of a full band with minimal equipment–by himself. And so with a budget of approximately $37, Zack spent the next six months composing, arranging, tracking, mixing, and mastering what would eventually become Seeds and Sand.
The result is a blend of rich, fuzz-soaked guitars and layered, melodic vocals–an eclectic brand of rock music that is at times heavy, spacey, bluesy, and lovely, depending on the moment.
But don’t take our word for it. This quote from one of Zack’s biggest fans says it all:
“I’m so impressed by the work you’ve done, sweetie. The songs are terrific. I mean, the really loud ones aren’t my favorite, but I still think it’s great. Speaking of which, when I download your album, do I have to get the whole thing or can I just pick the songs I like?”
