Artist Statement/Bio: Not to be confused with the Northampton Center for the Arts, ably directed by Penny Burke.

Describe your organization or gallery: The Northampton Arts Council is a non-profit organization that seeks to help local artists by distributing grants from federal and locally raised funds. The Board of Directors is a group of volunteers who discuss the direction of the council affairs.

The Arts Council supports and nurtures arts activities in the community, allocates arts lottery funds, stimulates public awareness and support for the arts, and works to maintain the diverse cultural heritage of Northampton.

Arts Council Announces Grants to Artists

April 2, 2012--The Northampton Arts Council, Inc. announces a special, locally supported arts grant round. Reimbursement grants will be available to area writers, painters, photographers, sculptors, musicians, filmmakers, schools, and all other creatives and small arts organizations for projects held in Northampton, Florence, and Leeds.
