Collective Fund Update: Grant Cycle #1

We're in the midst of the very first grant cycle for the Mutual Aid Micro Grants.

Here's how the numbers are shaking down thus far:

23 folks are contributing to the fund
Monthly contributions total $120.21
The current collective fund balance is 294.08
We've received a one time donation of $100 which I propose we break up over the year in $25 installments
We have one proposal so far.

These totals also account for the 9% processing fee that Paypal takes from every transaction. In the future I'll look into using Fractured Atlas which I'm pretty sure takes less money + they aren't a big corporation.

We're going to extend the deadline for signing up and making a proposal. So if you'd still like to join in, do it here. And if you're not a member of Valley Art Share but would like to contribute to the collective fund you can support it here.

My summer has been hectic but I'm hoping this fall we can convene a meeting about the micro grants to get more folks involved in organizing and thinking through this mutual aid granting process.
